Sounds familiar?

Are the following three familiar sayings true or false?
First, “we are not responsible for the way we are!” Well, the laws of our land and our civil authorities disagree! And guess who installed such civil control over us. The Bible says that “the authorities that exist are appointed by God.” Romans 13:1. So the apostle Paul says, “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities.”
The good news is that God blesses such obedience to his Word. Compare strife-torn areas of the world where God's control over human affairs is widely denied or ignored.
Second, “we can find happiness independently of God.” But can we? Many who leave God out of their lives become so unhappy that they commit suicide. But choosing to live as God recommends - under his love, care and guidance - guarantees a sense of satisfaction and well-being not available elsewhere.
Third, “we are the masters of our fate.” But none of us knows what tomorrow will bring - let alone next week, next month or next year. So we are far from having control of our own destiny.
Let's be thankful that God says, “I will guide you.” Psalm 32:8. We couldn't have better leadership than that.
