That Man, Paul

Have you read any of the writings of the apostle Paul?
If you haven't, then fill an important gap in your awareness. He is one of history's great men. His achievements are outstanding.
First, he wrote a large part of the Christian message - no less than thirteen of the twenty-seven books of the New Testament.
Second, although Asia produced the world's five major religions, only the Christian message crossed almost immediately from the East into Europe. And who was responsible for taking it there? The apostle Paul!
But, third, it wasn't easy. When Paul entered Europe with his message it caused a riot! At a place called Thessalonica, the city's rulers were told that Paul had “turned the world upside down”! Chapter 17 of the book of Acts describes this in vivid detail.
Fourth, what earth-shattering message was Paul proclaiming?
Paul said he was “an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God” (Ephesians 1.1) and he presents Jesus as the world's Saviour.
Fifth, since almost the whole of education in the Western world from the first until the nineteenth century was in one way or another Christian, what an impact this Eastern message made - thanks to Paul!
